Who we are
We aren't professional organizers; we are ordinary people committed to action in extraordinary times.
We engage in regular, iterative actions to resist the authoritarian MAGA agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies.
As a chapter of Indivisible, we focus on the following principles for our grassroots volunteer group:
Remake our democracy. We recognize our democracy was rigged from the start in favor of the white and wealthy. We actively work to realize a shared vision of a real democracy — of, by, and for the people.
Embrace progressive values. We model inclusion, respect, and fairness in all of our actions.
Coordinate and collaborate. We partner with other groups on advocacy, elections, and national campaigns.
Build a strong and strategic movement. We focus our efforts to maximize our impact, winning progressive policy victories and taking power at the local, state, and federal level.
Our Values
The authoritarian strategy may be to divide and conquer, but ours is to stand together.
We don't need to agree on everything to know an attack on one is an attack on all.
We show up for each other, and particularly for those facing the brunt of rightwing ideologues’ attacks - often immigrants, people of color, trans people, and low-income people.
The goal here is to create a safe, healthy and collaborative environment within groups that is mutually understood by all. Some examples:
Respectfully communicating and assuming good intent among our group and community.
Approaching the work with a spirit of curiosity and willingness to learn, and to be corrected when necessary.
Operating with a belief that we are all in this together. We will all need guidance at one point or another on how to grow and learn in a way that is more aligned with our movement and communities..
We stand together. Toxic behaviors, racist, misogynistic, queer-phobic or other prejudiced actions, and disrespect can erode the shared purpose of our movement, and we will not allow these things to go unaddressed.
