In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon.
OCTOBER 18 is already the biggest peaceful protest in our nation’s history, with more events nationwide than were scheduled for any previous mass action. SHOW UP, and bring everyone you can. Huge numbers are crucial for driving the results of any event- they drive the news cycle, they build morale, and they foster community connection. When HUGE CROWDS stand together, we show weak representatives that the pressure is on and strong representatives that we’ve got their backs.
BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLES, your friends, and your family. Show up to stand together, and come meet lots of local organizations working to support our community in the wake of the past 9 months of increasing federal overreach. PRINT flyers and post them everywhere!
PARKING AND LOCATION INFO:
Parking is limited onsite, and we ask you to consider your mobility and accessibility needs ahead of time. Please be mindful of the many folks who have difficulty walking longer distances or need accessible parking. If you are able, we ask you to please consider the following:
1) Public Transportation: Valley Metro has two routes with nearby stops!
2) Use the Greenway — our location is right on the Lick Run section! Add to the event by marching in via the Greenway from either direction. Spread out the parking needs and give more visibility outside the main area! Biking? You can park at Valley View and take a 13-minute ride along the Greenway!
3) Carpool and park on the side streets off of Burrell across from the entrance to the park.
4) If you have friends, family, or neighbors with accessibility needs, we are blocking a few spaces for DROP OFF at the lot near the basketball court that has a Pink Star in the picture below. This lot should ONLY be used for handicap parking and drop-off.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
